75070 Patriots,

Thank you to everyone who is a part of the 75070 zip code patriots.
Our group focus is shifting to long-term sustainability. We must have a group model that will allow us to support the activities required to affect political outcomes at the local, state and national levels and do it by leveraging the skills, talents and personalities of our membership. We want a model that encourages membership involvement; empowers individuals and gives participants ownership in the movement.

Below is a summary of the model:

The model has four (4) focus teams and five (5) support teams. The focus teams will be staffed with dedicated people who like to be out in the public addressing outreach and issues at specific levels of the political landscape, i.e. local, state and national levels. The support teams will be staffed with members that like to work in the background providing valuable support making our focus teams successful.

The focus groups are:
1. Outreach group. This group is responsible for all the activities involved in outreach; flier distribution, signage, working intersections with signage, directing people to www.mckinneyteaparty.com and phone blitz efforts.
2. Local Government. This group of members will focus on the local political landscape including City Hall, Local School Board, and County Commissioners Court.
3. State Government. This group will focus efforts on the issues impacting our core principles from a state perspective.
4. National Government. This group will focus efforts on the issues impacting our core principles from a national perspective.

The support groups:
1. Events Team. This team will provide the organizational support for any event that the focus teams schedule. This would include securing a facility for the event and communicating the event to our membership and/or general public to secure participation.
2. Communications Team. This team is made up of writers, editors or anyone who is skilled in preparing and circulating a monthly newsletter. This group will be responsible for keeping our larger membership and our prospects informed of our activities.
3. Research and Education Teams. This team will be staffed by members who are skilled in staying abreast of complicated issues and keeping our group educated and informed. We have to be informed activists and be able to address issues with confidence and intelligence.
4. Technology Team. These are individuals that are well versed in technology that can assist our movement, for example Web-design and maintenance, use of video conferencing, Net meeting facilities, sound and video presentations, social communication mediums such as YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.
5. Blitz Team. This is a group who love to call or fax senators and congressman about issues. They would also be responsible for surveys on issues impacting our local Tea Party scope of influence.

Many of you have already indicated which group (Focus or Support) you would like to server in, others have not had the opportunity. I would like you all to take some time and to evaluate your skills and talents. Once you have done that, put yourself in either one of the four (4) focus teams or one of the five (5) support teams. Next, please come to our next meeting and plug yourself into the movement. Our new model will facilitate many levels of involvement and we need anyone who wants to serve.
